I would like to thank all of the card players, the corn-hole players and everyone else that donated to the building fund. In the recent months, we had to replace the A/C unit that supplied air for the karaoke and bar area. This could not have been done without the aid of the building fund (members on the corn-hole teams and card players). Thanks again.

I would also like to thank all of you that bought a chance on the $5.00 raffle card. The profits from that raffle helped purchase two new trash cans for the smaller bathrooms. The trashcans have been installed and the lodge only had to add $22.00. The winner of the raffle still has not picked up her winnings so please come see me.

I heard that the Father’s Day breakfast was a huge success. So, thanks to all of you ladies that helped make it a huge success.

If you’re planning on going to the Big Party there are only 13 seats left to purchase, so please hurry and get your tickets.

As always, we still need members, so when you’re at a lodge function please take a look to your right and left and see if the person beside you is a member. Then ask yourself why isn’t he or she a member. Reminder, the rules state that visitors can join us up to three times and then after that they are required to join the Lodge. Please stress this to your visitors. All you have to do is ask if they are enjoying themselves and pick up a membership application and have them fill it out. It’s very simple and we ask that you help enforce this rule and help increase our membership. The math is simple if you break it down. WOTM dues break down to only $2.08 a month and for LOOM it’s only $3.75 per month. There are plenty of benefits to cover that little bit of money. There are rules in place for a reason. Example, if the IRS pays us a visit and sees that we’re letting visitors purchase their own items we can lose our tax-exempt status. So, please help enforce the rules and talk up the lodge to them!

609 times 4 = 2,436. Do you know what those numbers represent? Well, it’s the total number of voluntary hours that we would have if all members volunteered just four hours a year. Our lodge would look and be in better shape if everyone helped out a little more.

Some volunteer suggestions:
1. Help with dinner, if you can’t cook you can help with the set-up, wash dishes, take orders, etc.
2. Renovations – we will need help with the renovations when we start the hall restroom project. Carpenters, painters, labors. I’m sure you could help somehow.
3. Laborers - Billy Wenk wants to finish the painting of the curbs out front, but we need someone to pressure wash them first. I’ll help set everything up for you. Easy way to get your four hours in.
4. Painting - the shed out back needs painting and someone to paint it would sure be appreciated.

A special note: We do have meetings here at Lodge 1709. The membership meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s starting at 7:00pm. Please join us to see what’s going on and how you might help pitch in! Thank you!
